On Sunday afternoon, a swearing in ceremony for 150 fighting soldiers, out of 200 who were recruited to the Nachal Hareidi, mostly hareidi boys, took place. According to the 'tradition' of the Netzach Yehudah brigade, the ceremony took place at Givat Hatachmoshet.
During the ceremony, the soldiers received the IDF arms and a Tanach. Participants were Rabbis of the Nachal Hareidi, members of families of the soldiers and Harav Yoel Schwartz – one of the founders of the Nachal Hareidi initiative and the spiritual authority, who spoke in front of the soldiers.
The commander of the training base of the Kfir division, Lieutenant Colonel Kfir Cohen, spoke to the soldiers and said that the Nachal Hareidi brigade is an excellent example that the combination between Torah and army is possible. "The brigade is an unprecedented success".
The manager of the Nachal Hareidi organization, Harav Zvi Klebanau, said: "We are glad and moved to see the soldiers with a feeling of mission and strong will to contribute to the state and army, and wish them great success. The high number of the present recruit session expresses the continued growth in the number of hareidi youngsters who are enlisting to the IDF each year".
