The anti-Semitic and anti-Jewish atmosphere which has lately been aroused in Germany now has another expression: at the Berlin police a complaint was submitted against Harav Yitzchak Ehrenberg, a Rav of the city.

The "Ha'aretz" newspaper reports that a complaint was submitted against Harav Ehrenberg, a community Rabbi in western Berlin, for his call during a TV guest show to continue performing the Mitzvah of Bris Milah, despite the decision of the German court which banned the ceremony.

It is not known who stands behind the claim, but the state attorney's office of Berlin decided to close the case, with the claim that to its impression, no transgression was performed.

This is the second time that a complaint is submitted against Rabbis in Germany, since the ruling of the court in Köln, which forbade the performance of Bris Milah about two months ago.

A complaint submitted against the Mohel Harav David Goldberg from Hoff in Bararia, for performing Milah operations, preceded the present one. In this case the authorities have not yet announced whether the file has been closed.

Harav Ehrenberg is not excited by the anti-Semitic spirit in the streets of Germany – which was tangibly expressed in the attack of Harav Daniel Alter, who was hit last week in the presence of his daughter.

On Friday night, Harav Ehrenberg gave a speech in front of an audience which came to daven the Shabbos tefilla at a shull in western Berlin. "I am Israeli, without fear, without complexes," he said. "I travel by metro and wear a yarmulke. I have never felt threatened or been attacked. Here in Germany, it is not dangerous for Jews, Baruch Hashem".
