Over the last few days, the lawsuit which is being held against the Mohel Harav David Goldberg from Germany - because of an indictment of causing physical harm to a baby, which came after a ruling of the court in Keln against Bris Milah - has been denounced all over the world.

Meanwhile, a new document of the American Association of Pediatrics, which was published these days, actually supports Bris Milah, and maintains that besides the Jewish custom of holding the Bris, it has many medical advantages.

In the document, the association lists a long list of diseases which may be prevented by performing a Bris Milah.

"The pediatric association believes that the health benefits in circumcision are meaningful enough for the cost of the Bris to be covered by the medical insurance, for families who choose to do so", maintains a standpoint document. "But in the long run this is a decision of the parents alone, according to their faith, their ethics and their culture".

After publishing the document, the American Association of Midwifery and Gynecology announced that it too supports the document.

According to the association, it will help professionals advise parents whether and how to perform the circumcision.
