Drama in Crown Heights: Building of hareidim went up in flames

A residential building in the Crown Heights suburb of Brooklyn went up in flames last night. Tens of fire fighting teams worked on the scene in an attempt to take control of the large fire. The building, which is located in the intersection of Kroll and Kingston avenues, houses many families of Chabbad Chassidim, as reported by Col site.
A Chabbad avrech who passed nearby, climbed on the emergency steps and knocked on the windows of the homes. "He shouted "fire" in order for everyone to get up and stay unharmed," told an eye-witness. "Thanks to him everyone woke up and managed to escape. He prevented a serious tragedy, that's for sure".

Another eye witness told: "The residents woke up frantically and ran to the street in their pajamas. Many residents form the close-by buildings also woke up and gathered around the burning building".

Journalists from the marked New York media arrived at the scene and talked to residents.

With the help of Heaven, not one of the residents was harmed. 3 Firemen were slightly injured by inhaling smoke. Two of them were evacuated for treatment.
