Another tragedy of Bein Hazmanim: Eliezer Lintop z"l, resident of Shaulzon street in Har Nof, Jerusalem, drowned on Tuesday evening at the Neve Midbar beach in the Dead Sea.

The deceased z"l, aged 58, went to swim at the beach situated in the north of the Dead Sea. According to estimation, he had a cardiac arrest in the water, he twitched and swallowed water. Swimmers who noticed the incident hurried to pull him out the water.

MDA forces were called in, and military medical forces arrived on the scene. A helicopter was rushed to the scene to evacuate him to hospital.

The forces tried to perform resuscitation, but most unfortunately the military doctor who was at the place, was forced to determine his death, and the helicopter call was canceled.

The Zaka team removed the body to the levaya house Shamgar in Jerusalem.

Dani Richter, a MDA paramedic of Jerusalem, told Behadrei Hareidim: "At the Neve Midbar beach, close to Kalia, a man drowned and was drawn out the water by swimmers. MDA paramedics and military forces tried to perform resuscitation, but finally they had to determine his death".

Chaim Weingarten, the executive officer of Zaka, told Behadrei Hareidim: "This is a man of about 60 who came to swim at the beach, and most probably suffered of a cardiac arrest which caused his drowning. After resuscitation which lasted about an hour, his death was determined, a Zaka team from Jerusalem came to the place".

The executive officer of Jerusalem, Meir Aker, who treated the deceased, told Behadrei Hareidim, that immediately upon receiving notice of his death, he turned to the command rank in the Shay police district, with the help of the Zaka Modi'in Illit officer Shmuel Segal, and at the same time he travelled with an ambulance to the beach.

"After talking to the family, we received an authorization of burial from the officer of the Shay district, and one of the family members went to the Ma'ale Edumim police to receive the authorization. From there we took the deceased to the Shamgar levaya house in Jerusalem. At 12:00pm the levaya was held, and he was buried at the Har Hamenuchos cemetery".

Aker says that according to eye witnesses who were with Eliezer z"l he started an epileptic fit in the water, and as a result swallowed water. They pulled him out, and started performing resuscitation until his death was determined".

The deceased z"l came there with his brother in law, together with a group of Hareidi men who arrived in organized buses.

This is the third case of drowning this week. On Sunday, the child Yehudah Meir Wald z"l of Beit Shemesh drowned at the Habonim beach in the north. The next day, Monday, a 3 year old infant drowned in a swimming pool in Kfar Ruth, and his condition is still harsh.
