On Hachaluzim st. in Bnei Brak, a car accident occurred last night (Wednesday).
A boy of about 16 was hit by a passing car and was injured. The driver stopped and called the rescue forces.
During the wait for the rescue teams, another car passed and hit the casualty who was lying on the road.
The Ichud Hatzalah and Hatzalah Gush Dan paramedics gave first aid to the casualty, and he was evacuated in a medium condition to hospital.
Traffic testers were called, and policemen of the Dan district are searching to locate the hitting car, according to testaments of passers-by.
Uzi Barak, a Hatzalah paramedic told: "A boy crossed Hachaluzim corner Hanegev street, at a pedestrian crossing, and was hit by two cars, but the car which hit him after he was already on the road, escaped.
"Together with other paramedics, we gave him first aid. There was a suspicion of a head injury and other injuries, and he was evacuated by means of an intensive care van in a medium condition and misty consciousness, to the Beilinson hospital in Petah Tikvah.
"A few minutes after the casualty was evacuated, the first driver lost his consciousness for a short while, was treated by the paramedics who were still present, and was also taken to hospital in a slight condition".
Ushi Shlomovitz, the chairman of Hatzala Gush Dan, told that according to eye witnesses, the bochur who was injured ran to the road, and was hit by a car. As a result of he was thrown to the opposite lane and another car hit him. The second car escaped from the scene, and a chase is being held after him by means of large forces of police.
Shlomovitz added that he was treated for head injuries, and after primary care he was evacuated by the intensive care van to the trauma room in hospital with his condition defined as medium to harsh.
