Pashkevilim Battle: "Im Tirtzu" movement against "Dossim"

New gimmick? The Im Tirtzu movement which defines itself as a rightist movement, disseminated last night (Tues.) notes in the hareidi suburbs, which call on the hareidi public "to take responsibility and recruit to the IDF".

In the note which reached Behadrei Hareidim, it was written: "To you, dear Jew! Am Yisrael needs every soldier to protect the security of the nation and the land! The entire Am Yisrael awaits you to take part in the IDF. This has nothing to do with hatred toward hareidim or a will to stop Torah learning, but a real need and a Milchemet Mitzvah, as Moshe Rabeinu already reprimanded Bnei Reuven and Bnei Gad and cried: Will your brothers go out to war and you will sit here?

"The reality which has come about in our days, evokes Sinas Chinam (hatred) among your brothers the secular Jews, for they are taking part in the holy Milchemet Mitzvah, and their sons are filling the cemeteries. Equality of burden means equality of the burden of blood, in the merit of which we exist here".

It was further written: "Serving in the army is a 'Mitzva min Hamuvchar', this is not G-d Forbid Bitul Torah, for the intention is not to cancel or close the Batei Midrash, rather the nation of Israel needs additional fighters who fight in Kedusha and Tahara.

"Dear brothers, join forces, as the Rambam has written: 'Even a chosson from his room, and a kallah from her chupah'".

Ronen Shoval, the chairman of Im Tirtzu explained that the approach towards the hareidi public is a positive one, "out of a sincere will to form a dialogue which will bring to cooperation. We plead with the hareidi public to show responsibility towards the whole, and be full partners in the physical existence of Am Yisrael and the state, along side its spiritual existence".

"Showing a Psak Halacha – hypocrisy"

The "Dossim" project which has revealed the participation of Im Tirtzu movement in the anarchistic demonstration of leftist bodies against the hareidim, and even caused a public echo in the matter, responded to the present pashkevil, while mentioning that the most ridiculous thing which the movement has done – is to come up to avreichim who spend night and day to delve into the Rambam's words, and to pasken for them what is considered a Mitzva or an Halachic obligation.

In response, "Dossim" chose to disseminate a pashkevil in contrast, in which there were small but meaningful changes: "Am Yisroel as a whole awaits you to show absence from your spiritual guarding and recruit to the army. This is not profiteering out of hatred to you, for a few poor mandates, but out of a real need and a Milchemet Mitzva: evacuating settlements and securing a radical demonstration in Bil'in.

"The reality which has come about in our days evokes Sinas Chinam among your brothers the secular Jews. Therefore, remove yourselves from the ways of the world, do not perform a war like the rest of Israel and do not inherit etc."

Yair Tailor, one of the editors of the Dossim project, explained in a talk with Behadrei Hareidim, that the aim of spreading the pashkevil in contrast was presenting the hypocrisy in the Psak Halacha which is not backed by any certified halachic body, is not anchored in any source for psika, and there is no Rav which can sign on it. Therefore, the people of Im Tirtzu will be honored if they dealt with the important issues of guarding Eretz Yisroel and its wholesomeness, and will not undermine the legitimacy of those who learn Torah.
