Sign of battle. Again upheaval in Beit Shemesh

Once again. After the Beit Shemesh municipality removed the signs of separation in the Nachala U'menuha suburb in the city, the residents put the signs back up and the inspectors returned to the suburb. This time they encountered a harsh reception.

Once again a fuss in Beit Shemesh: Exactly a week after the municipality removed the signs of separation at the Nachala U'menuha suburb in the city, this morning (Thurs.) the inspectors from the municipal department, accompanied by the police, arrived in order to remove the sign which was again hung up that day.

These are signs which were hung up on the sidewalk close to the Heichal Avraham Beis Midrash in the suburb, which call on the women to refrain from passing close to the entrance of the Beis Midrash. When the inspectors arrived this morning, they performed the removal quickly, and in response they met with shouts.

According to information which reached Behadrei Hareidim, during the last period residents of the city have placed a complaint in the police each time the residents of the suburb returned the signs, with a claim that they are hurting the women's feelings.

Nili Phillip, one of the women who complained last time at the police, wrote in the facebook page of the Beit Shemesh municipality:

"I placed a complaint at the police about the fact that you didn't take down the illegal sign and which is an affront to women's rights to walk about in the streets of the city.

As a reminder, I approached you yesterday – it is your responsibility and obligation to make sure the laws of the country are being enforced in all areas of the city".

Yesterday she wrote, "Today - 4 days since I placed a complaint at the police about returning the signs on 7 Chazon Ish street. And you, who serve the public, continue to disregard my appeal to carry out your obligation and take them down", the wording of the message.

The residents who have declared a battle against the signs said that taking down the signs has to be enforced as quickly as possible, "Why do the inspectors of the municipality delay with taking down? It seems that the Hareidim overpower the municipality. We will turn to legal procedures against the municipality and the one who heads it", said the resident of the city who lives close to the neighborhood.

The radicals, in contrast, declared this morning that already in the next day they will put the signs back up.
