The New York murder department is investigating the mysterious death of a hareidi Jewish man who used to beg Tzedaka in the Flatbush shulls.
The investigation has so far shown that the man was an owner of property, and especially a collection of rare original photographs worth millions of dollars.
The beggar, Howard (Eliezer) Frank, was found on Thursday floating in a channel, a few days after he was last seen in the Landau shull in Flatbush.
According to witnesses, the beggar seemed disturbed before his death, and claimed he owes a sum of 80,000 dollars to someone.
According to Frank's brother, Reuven, he had complained that people who envied his original photograph collection, "wanted to kill me".
The police holds as suspect a businessman who wanted to purchase the collection from the beggar at a low price. He himself claims that Frank had incriminating information about persons in the Satmer chassidus in Brooklyn.
There are those who claim that the man committed suicide, as he was evacuated from his apartment a few years ago, was out of work and owed money.
The New York police continues to investigate.
