Eight days after the fatal car accident which happened in Tiberias and took the lives of eight members of the Atias family, this morning (Wed.) Rachel Atias, 7 years old, the only survivor of the accident, returned to her class in the Hemed school which is close-by to the family home in the Bar Yochai settlement.

A few days ago, Rachel was released from the Rambam hospital and moved to stay with her aunt, Esther Cohen, in Tzfat, where she started a new chapter in her life.

According to her aunt, Rachel expressed her wish to return earlier than expected to her studies.

Accompanied by her uncles, Rachel arrived at the school gate today, where the school principal and her vice awaited her.

Her class mates made a reception for her, which included drawings, cakes and more.
"Rachel is slowly recovering," her aunt, Esther Cohen related. "She found it hard to talk, but the girls received her with love and warmth. We thought it was too early for her to return to her studies, but she pleaded with us that she would like to return to be with her friends at school."

As part of the long rehabilitation process, Rachel will stay at school each day for a few hours, and will return to her home in Tzfat earlier than usual.
