The Spinka Gabai refused to be a Moser – the judge sentenced imprisonement

The federal court in LA gave a verdict at the end of last week, of 18 months imprisonement to Harav Moshe Zigleman, aged 64, the Gabai of the Spinka Rebbe, since he refused to testify against suspects of the Chassidus in the money-laundering affair.

The Spinka Rebbe of Boro Park served his sentence, as the result of the affair, in the Oldsville jail in New Jersey.

Zigleman, the Gabai of the Rebbe, already served a jail sentence in the past, but a year ago his involvement in the affair came to light once again, after the F.B.I. demanded of him to testify against Chassidim who were suspected as involved in the saga.

The court accused Zigleman of disgracing the authorities, and gave a verdict of 18 months imprisonment.

Zigleman explained to the federal judge, by means of a translator into Yiddish, the serious transgression of being a "Moser": "My mind won't change until my day of death".
His lawyers asked of the court to postpone his entry into jail until after Pesach, so that he could be with his family during the Yomtov. But the prosecution opposed the request, and the court ruled that he should show up on Wednesday already at the federal imprisonment installation in Brooklyn.
