Netanyahu And Lieberman Approve 2,500 New Apartments In Yehudah And Shomron

Two thousand and five hundred new housing units have been approved for construction today, the units will be built throughout Yehudah and Shomron, which hasn’t seen much new construction in the past few years, due to pressure by the Obama administration.
The decision was made in order to meet the building needs, and to assure the continuity of normal life for the residents residing in Yehudah and Shomron.

Most of the units will be built in the settlement blocs, and about 100 of them are in the town of Bet-El, part of the High court’s obligation to provide housing for residents that were uprooted from their communities in the past.

As well, some of the approved units are in the ‘Yeckev’ neighborhood, set aside for expellees who were evicted from the town of Migron. The units were promised by past governments.

Commenting on the announcement, Minister Lieberman said, “We are returning to normal life in Yehudah and Shomron”.

In parallel to the announcement, Defense Minister Lieberman will ask the cabinet to approve the construction of an industrial zone for the Palestinian Arabs next to the town of Tarkumyah.

It will be one of the largest industrial areas in Yehuda and Shomron, which will include a petroleum production center amongst other plants and factories that will be constructed there.
