Another Busy Day for Israeli Firefighters

A fire broke out on Rechov Ramat Hagolan in the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood of Yerushalayim. The fire was situated in the forest between Sanhedriah Hamurchevet and highway 9. Due to the heat and dry winds the fire was able to spread quickly. A number of private gardens suffered light damage. Six fire companies worked to extinguish the flames. The fire is under control but firefighters are still in the area. On their own initiative a number of residents left their homes out of concern that the fire would spread and endanger them.

At the same time two fire companies are working to extinguish a large brush fire at the entrance to Modiin Illit. Two caravans(trailers) have gone up in flames. Additional help is being sent to the area.

At 4:00 a.m. firefighters were called to the scene of a fire in the forest near Ramat Shlomo. They managed to put out the fire before engulfed the area. An investigation has revealed the cause of the fire to be the torching of a motorcycle in the forest.
