It happened: Porush Resigned
After he publicized his decision last night to resign from the Knesset under the Norwegian Law in order to allow Yakov Asher to fill his place, Meir Porush hurried to fulfill his promise. He presented his resignation to at noon to the head of the Knesset.

After he publicized his decision last night to resign from the Knesset under the Norwegian Law in order to allow Yakov Asher to fill his place, Meir Porush hurried to fulfill his promise. He presented his resignation to at noon to the head of the Knesset.
Porush will resign under the Norwegian law and in his place Yakov Asher will fill the 7th mandate on the Yahadut Hatorah list.
His resignation will go into effect in 48 hours. Parush will remain deputy minister of education.
After his resignation he explained to Bechadrey Charedim his step: "After Pesach I realized that we were on the brink of a deep rift. I am taking this step to give Yahadut Hatorah another chance to mend the rift. Halevai that it will bring achdus."
