Breaking News: The team negotiating between the Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu is forming a special committee to discuss the differences of opinion between Yisrael Beiteinu and the charedi parties.
Behadrey found out that it was agreed to form a committee with representatives from all parties in the Coalition so as not to harm the agreements in place with the charedi parties. A source involved in the negotiations told Behadrey today that “Avigdor Lieberman came to the negotiating table with a positive attitude and not in order to oppose a partnership with charedim.”
The source added: "Lieberman is currently interested in an emphasis on security issues and to further his success in this field as he promised last year. In the Coalition agreement, he is also devoting himself to several olim issues which should be corrected, but religious issues will be dealt with in the committee to be formed for this purpose.”
It should be noted that the decision to set up a committee between all members of the Coalition is good news for the charedi parties, for as of now, no agreement will be made on issues of religion such as conversion, the draft, marriage and the like; issues on which Lieberman did not hesitated to express his strong objections over the past years.
On Wednesday night, a top member of United Torah Judaism had expressed his grave misgivings as to Lieberman joining the government because of his anti-charedi history.
