Ponovezh Rosh Yeshiva Visits Lakewood

The Rosh Yeshiva flew to America for a quick hour trip on behalf of a Torah institution that is on the verge of collapse. He spent just 12 hours on American soil before turning around and boarding a plane back to Eretz Yisrael in order to arrive in time to give over the first Kodshim shiur of the zman. It should be noted that this trip was originally planned for bein hazmanim, but due to the personal request of Harav Aharon Leib Shteinman that he be present at the Lev L'achim and Lev Shomea gatherings held at that time- he postponed his trip.

Harav Olshin addressed yesterday's participants saying," We were zoche that the Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovezh shoud come especially to us. This is a chizuk for the entire city and the yeshiva. In this generation orphaned of the many Talmidei Chachamim that we had in the past, we appreciate the visit of the Rosh Yeshiva who is a true Talmid Chacham and Sar HaTorah, who was zoche to teach thousands of talmidim over a number of decades. We will all strengthen ourselves in Kavod HaTorah in order that the Torah will protect us in the difficult circumstance we now find ourselves in. Torah protects those who honor her and her Talmidei Chachamim. We must all strengthen ourselves in Kavod Hatorah and Talmidei Chachamim.
