Unprecedented Number of Fires
Due to difficult weather conditions Israel is experiencing a wave of fires throughout the country. It is strictly prohibited to light any fires in open areas tomorrow.

Due to the ongoing heat wave tens of fires have broken out all over the country including in Yerushalayim, Beit Shemesh, and Chaifa. One fire fighter was lightly wounded by smoke inhalation. Therefore an order has been given to prohibit the kindling of any fires tomorrow in open areas from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

For an overview of today's firefighting efforts read below:
At 6:37 p.m. a fire broke out in Teveria. Two people suffered smoke inhalation. There was damage to a building. The fire is under control.
At 6:20 a large brush fire was reported in Northern Teveria. 20 firefighters are trying to put out the fire. There are people trapped inside the area. Strong winds are hampering the efforts of the firemen to extinguish the fire.
At 5:17 it was reported that firemen gained control of the fires in the following places, Mata, Kibbutz Harel, and Agor.
4:20: 4 fire companies fought a brush fire in the wadi between the shuafat refugee camp and Pisgat Zeev.
3:48 : Firefighters gained control over a fire in Abu Gosh.
3:10 :A fire was extinguished in Bikat Hayarden near the Pzal greenhouses.
3:01: A new fire broke out on Mount Sansan near Tzur Hadassah, while firefighters in the area battle the blaze in Mata with 7 fire companies and airplanes.
12:22: Eight Beit Shemesh fire companies battle a large fire in Mosshav Luzit along with another eight companies from Yerushalayim. At 1:06 firefighters struggle to gain control over the fire and manage to Baruch Hashem keep it from reaching the private homes in the area.
