Copycat Ramming - Stabbing Attack in Massachusetts

Arthur DaRosa, a 28 year old man living in Taunton Massachusetts crashed his car outside a private home in the city before going in and stabbing an 80 year old woman and her daughter. Both women suffered life threatening injures. The 80 year old later died of her wounds.

DaRosa then drove a number of miles to the Silver City Galleria mall where he crashed through the door of a Macy's store. He assaulted 3 people in the store before running to Bertucci's restaurant where he stabbed another two people, including a 56 year old man who later died.

An off duty sheriff at the restaurant shot DaRosa, eliminating him and putting an end to his rampage.

The six stabbing victims included a pregnant woman, all of whom have been taken to the hospital.

DaRosa's motive for the attack currently remains under investigation.
Though the attack sounds eerily similar to a number or ramming-stabbing terrorist attacks in Israel police investigators at this time do not think the attack is connected to terrorism. Family members of DaRosa told WCVB that he went to the hospital on Monday complaining of suicidal thoughts, and had been released shortly before the rampage.
