COLlive has reported violence in Crown Heights on friday.
Out of a group of African-American teenagers who attacked a Jewish man in Crown Heights on Friday, one of them was caught and arrested.

Isaac Senderov, a 29-year-old student of Yeshiva Hadar Hatorah in Brooklyn, NY, was walking down Eastern Parkway when some 10 black youths started following him between the Kingston and Albany avenues.

"They saw me from across the street and decided to follow me," Senderov told COLlive.com. "They threw at me small rocks or stones and then I felt many of them close to my back."

The Israeli-born student said the black youth shouted at him but he didn't fully understand them.

"I screamed, 'what do you want?!' and one of them said, 'you want to fight?' and showed me his fists. I continued walking as I was close to my Yeshiva, trying to escape there."

Senderov said he was then hit with a heavy steel stick in his left arm.

His attackers started to disperse when a Jewish woman saw what was happening and called the police.

"They ran away in different directions," he recalled. "I managed to catch one of them. He was hiding between houses. I said to him, 'don't go until the police is here.' He punched me in the face, so I pushed him down and sat on him until Shmira came."

Officers from the NYPD eventually arrived at the scene. They identified the person as a 13-year-old black male.

A statement from the NYPD confirmed to COLlive: "The perp was apprehended and brought to the 71st Precinct and charged with a possible hate crime assault 3."

The 77th and 71st Precincts' school teams are planning to visit the nearby Alternate Learning Center at 281 Albany Avenue on Monday.

The city-funded school provides an educational setting for students who are serving a Superintendent's Suspension up to one year. Police officers will be speaking to the facility and students.
