40 year old James Medina was arrested when he attempted to attack a conservative Synagogue in Aventura Florida on the last day of Pesach.

Medina who converted to Islam 4 years ago had decided to martyr himself while attacking a synagogue during the holiday. The FBI was tipped off as to his intentions and arrested him on his way to the attack. Before his arrest Medina made three videos recording himself making the following statements : " Aventura, watch your back. ISIS is in the house." In the second video he said, "Today is gonna be a day where Muslims attack America. I'm going to set a bomb in Aventura." He said good bye to his family in the third video.

In an interview with Bchadrey World, Rabbi Moshe Matz, Mara D'asra of the Aventura Shul and Director of Agudas Yisrael of Florida said,"Based on the information we have now, there was no real imminent or practical threat. We should take care not to overreact under the current circumstances."

"I am a Rabbi in Aventura and my Shul is about 5 minutes away from the Conservative Synagogue in the news. I don't think that this story really changes anything. We are in galus, it is dangerous all over the world. I don't belive that we are in any more danger now than we were before.

"This Friday the police will be meeting with the Rabbis in Aventura to discuss security over Shabbos."
