Petach Tikvah District Court Judge Avraham Tal rejected most of the appeals presented by the four Jews detained as part of a Shin Bet investigation.

Judge Tal accepted one of the detainee’s appeal, allowing him to meet with legal counsel on Thursday, while the others will be allowed such only on Friday.

Some of the detainees have been interrogated by the Shin Bet for a week without benefit of counsel. No details of the case have been publicized due to a gag order. The detainees will be represented by Attorneys Aharon Roza and Adi Kedar of Honenu.

An appeal will be presented in the IDF Appellate Court in the case of a combat soldier, another detainee, at 10:30 on Wednesday.

In an appeal by Attorney Chai Haber of Honenu who is representing the soldier, he will ask the Court to rescind the order preventing him from meeting with his attorney.

Earlier today, the father of some of the prisoners expressed his doubts about their wellbeing. “My children are imprisoned in the Shin Bet cell without legal counsel. As a father of five sons who served in IDF combat units --- some of them officers – it pains me that they are not allowed to meet with a lawyer and we have no idea how they are. It pains me that the State is treating them as citizens without rights. We are very worried that they are being pressured with unreasonable, illegal interrogation tactics. We’ve heard about such prisoners who were tortured and the thought gives us no peace,” notes the father.
