Israeli Tourist Dies in Peru

The foreign ministry has announced this morning that a 20 year old Israeli tourist died in Peru last night. The body of Shira Roth will be flown to Israel for burial.

The circumstances of this difficult tragedy are still not clear and are currently being investigated via the government of this South American country. Meanwhile the Israeli Ambassador to Peru is working to bring her body to Israel for immediate burial.

According to her family Shira died from lack of oxygen. This has not yet been proven by the relevant authorities.

Her father posted the following on Facebook ;“May your soul be bound up with the living, my beloved and oldest child. We have not yet digested this. You were supposed to come home next week for Pesach and your 21st birthday. May you rest in Eden. “

Her father also posted;” It seems that she did not have enough oxygen.”
