The Katz family was supposed to move this morning, a fact that miraculously saved their other five children from the devastating fire that erupted in their apartment building at Rechov Pardo 13 in Bnei Brak. Numerous people suffered from smoke inhalation, two of whom are in serious condition
.
Velka Katz is currently on a respirator in Tel Hashomer’s intensive care burn unit, her seven month old son is in the pediatric ICU
.
A family member told Bhadrey Hareidim ,” They were set to move this morning at 7:00 a.m. and because their house was full of boxes the five older children were sent to sleep over at their grandparent’s house. One can only imagine how devastating the damage could have been had another five children been home at the time of the fire. “The relative expands on the nes explaining, that the Katz family are descendants of Reb Elimelech of Lizhnsk - and that today is his yartzeit.
