This morning the Shabak’s investigative strategies have been revealed. Right wing activists that are suspected of having perpetrated Jewish terror have been subjected to these techniques.
These techniques which were made public this morning by Chaim Levinson in Haaretz are astounding in their creativity but make one wonder over their legitimacy. Among other things it has been revealed that the Shabak will create fake prison cells populated by undercover policemen acting as prisoners. Suspects under investigation will at times be witness to extreme violence such as murder scenes as an intimidation technique. An atmosphere of fear and vulnerability will be created to induce the suspect into revealing his own “sins” to his cell mates as a sign that he is trustworthy and will not snitch to the authorities about any of the injustices that he has seen.
These tactics have been employed in the investigation of minors as well.
Itamar Ben Gvir, the defense attorney representing some of the Duma suspects says; “admittance is supposed to be given willingly and with full awareness. Unfortunately in the case of this minor who had been threatened with death this was not so. A Black flag is waving over the breach of law and accountability we are seeing in this case.”
