Arab Home in Duma goes up in Flames. Residents: Settlers are to Blame. Ben Gvir: Ridiculous Mistake

8months after the burning of the Dawabshe family’s home in Duma that left three family members dead- another home was firebombed- that of the eye witness of the last attack.
At close to 3:00 a.m. this morning Israeli police received a call about another case of arson in Duma. The army and the police opened an investigation which is currently under gag orders.
The residents of the home, a husband and wife managed to escape the fire. They suffered from smoke inhalation and are currently hospitalized in Shechem.
Attorney Itamatr Ben Gvir, who is representing the main suspect in the previous Duma arson says that this latest arson just strengthens their original claim that his client, Amiram Benoliel was not involved in the first arson. The people of the village fight between themselves and this is not the first time that such attacks were carried out as a way to settle a personal argument.
It’s possible that today’s arson attack- against the home of an eyewitness was meant to scare him- which is even more ridiculous since the eye witness would actually help my clients claim that he was not involved. And they are claiming that a car was in the area- when the Shabak have claimed that Benoleil was on foot and by himself.
Hussein, a resident of Duma said this morning to Galatz,” Ibrahim isn’t fighting with anyone. We think that settlers did this. No one here who knows Ibrahim would do such a thing to him. Perhaps this is a revenge attack against Ibrahim since his child witnessed the last arson attack.
About two months ago the prosecutor’s office of the Central District served two indictments; one against 21 year old Amiram Benoleil of Jerusalem and the second against a 16 year old boy from the Shomron, which accuse them of the deaths of 3 members of the Dawabshe family in July 2015. According to the indictments the two wanted to stir up the Arabs and cause violent flare ups and security concerns, and discourage the decision makers from evacuating settlements. All this to avenge the murder of Malachi Rosenfled which took place a month earlier.
