Shabbos in the Netherlands: a plane of El Al airline boarding about 150 passengers and crew, which was supposed to take off on Friday morning from Amsterdam to Israel, was grounded due to an accident. All passengers were scattered in the city for Shabbos, as reported by Chabad Online.
According to reports, during the transfer of the plane to the Amsterdam runway, its wing hit a fence, and as a result the plane was grounded.
According to the decision of the company personnel, passengers were transferred to various city hotels, where they spent Shabbat.
Chabad Online website reported that Chabad emissary in Amsterdam, Rabbi Akiva Kamisser, was recruited to help the passengers, along with his wife, for the preparation of kosher food and joint Shabbos meals.
Some of the passengers were at the airport hotel and a Sefer Torah was brought to them where they held a minyan for prayer.
