Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toured the eastern fence (Israeli-Jordanian border). The Prime Minister was briefed on the progress of construction of the Wall and toured the area. He was accompanied by Transport and Intelligence Minister Israel Katz, Lt. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot, GOC Southern Command Eyal Zamir, 80 division commander Brigadier General Rafi Milo and Director Gen. of the fence Eran Ofir.

In the tour along the fence, the Prime Minister said: 'We are preparing a multi-year plan, basically to encompass all of Israel by security fences to protect ourselves in the Middle East as it is, and as it is likely to be. In addition to that we are also preparing a plan to close the loopholes in the security fence in Judea and Samaria. This costs many billions of money, it will be deployed for years, we are now working on prioritization, to build it up gradually, but to complete this plan in favor of the security of the State of Israel.

"The advantage of building here, and construction along the Egyptian border, that there are no structures linked to the fence, not a kilometer and not two kilometers away that can serve as shafts. In the long run, in the State of Israel, as I see it, there will be a fence like that which surrounds the entire state. They may tell me - this what you want to do, to protect the villa? The answer is yes. What, we will surround all of Israel with a fence, a barrier? The answer is yes, unequivocally. In the environment in which we live, we need to protect ourselves from predators.

The eastern fence will protect the airport being built at Timna and has elements of observation. The cost of building of 30 km (Eilat to Sands of Samar) of the fense and protecting the Timna airport are NIS 288 million.

The prime minister then visited the international airport being built at Timna, where heads of the Airport Authority presented him with the progress of the project.
