Palestinian pogrom: Karmei Tzur residents were shocked to see tonight (Saturday), that the Sorek outpost synagogue nearby, was set on fire during Friday night. The holy books were collected in one place and set on fire.
The synagogue which was named after the 'three boys' HYD, in Givat Sorek of Karmei Tzur, was torched by Palestinian rioters from Halhul nearby.
Givat Sorek is an outpost near the settlement of Karmei Tsur in the Gush Etzion Regional Council, north of Hebron. In the past, the local synagogue has already known attacks and has been torched in the past.
SJ Police launched an investigation and said that traces of suspected arson lead to the Palestinian town of Halhul nearby.
Fire services were preparing to arrive following the call, but the launch was canceled after the Security Officer of the community was able to control the fire.
Head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, David Perel, said that "the difficult images sent chills all over my body. I am sure that survivors who passed Kristallnacht and founded Gush Etzion never dreamed that such scenes of burnt holy books will happen here in the land of Israel under Israeli rule. The Government of Israel must outweigh the Arab riots which harm human life and what is sanctified to Jews."
