Anti-Turkish cooperation between Greece and Israel tightens• Prime Minister left for a joint meeting in Cyprus

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took off this morning (Thursday) for a short visit in Cyprus where will hold a trilateral meeting with the heads of government of Cyprus and Greece. Netanyahu is also expected to meet with President of Cyprus.
Yesterday a joint government meeting was held in Jerusalem between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the ministers with the Prime Minister of Greece Tsipras who arrived in Israel with six of his ministers.
During the meeting, the sides signed a series of cooperation agreements in the fields of tourism, science, transportation and homeland security.
In a joint statement the Prime Minister said that he hoped that the strong relations between Israel and the European countries will also affect the relationship between Israel and the EU.
Netanyahu said "there is a gap between our good relations with European countries compared to the attitude of the European Union. We want to change that."
Greek prime minister Tsipras said that the meeting with Netanyahu was positive and that "its results are important for prosperity and economy, which will contribute to cooperation and stability in the region."
