Veteran of Petach Tikva, Rabbi Yerachmiel Ra'avad z"l

Baruch Dayan Ha'emes: in Petah Tikva the late Rabbi Yerachmiel Ravad z"l, one of the greatest figures of the city, passed away. He was 80 years old.

The deceased was born in Tel Aviv and raised in Herzeliya. He learned at Chafetz Chaim Yeshiva Ketana in Kfar Saba with Hagaon R' Aharon Leib Steinman, and then studied at Zichron Yaacov, by the Rosh Yeshiva Hagaon Rabbi Noah Shimonovitz of blessed memory and the Mashgiach Hagaon Hatzaddik Rabbi Eliyahu Lopian zt"l, to whom he was attached with all his might and abided by his teachings.

He then studied at the Slabodka Yeshiva where he continued to attain Torah and fear of Heaven. When he came of age, he married Mrs. Leah, daughter of hagaon Hatzaddik Rabbi Yitzhak Katz zt"l, head of the Beis Midrash Torah of the Land of Israel in Petah Tikva.

He is survived by a dor yeshorim: his on Rabbi Ram Moshe Ravad, a former Air Force Rabbi, Rabbi Hagai Ravad rabbi of the Dan Hotels, Rabbi Binyamin - Rosh Kollel Torah of the Land of Israel in Petah Tikva, Rabbi Malachi - reserve lieutenant colonel and head of the Halacha department in the IDF. And his daughter married to Rabbi Yosef Kulitz, Rosh Yeshiva Netivos Chochma and the son of the former Rabbi of Jerusalem Hagaon R' Yitzchak Kulitz zt:l.

The funeral left tonight at 22:00 from the shul Torah of the Land of Israel on Montefiore Street, and at 23:00 from Petach Tikva Segula cemetery where he was buried.

May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
