US apologized and Iran released the sailors - Admiral Ali Padwi, naval commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced this morning (Wednesday) that the crisis with the United States has ended.
He said the United States apologized for penetrating offshore waters, a penetration for which ten American sailors were arrested.
According to Padwi the sailors were unprofessional, but did not intend to violate the sovereignty of Iran. However, the Americans for their part, have not confirmed that the government apologized. The ten were transferred yesterday to the Persian island near the area where they were seized, and have been released.
It should be noted that the incident threatened the tightening of relations between the US and Iran, since the signing of the nuclear deal between the world powers and the Islamic Republic.
According to the admiral, the foreign ministers of the two states John Kerry and Mohammad Javad Zarif, spoke yesterday about the incident. And that "we had a clear position that we presented to the Americans," said Padwi. "He (Zarif) said they were in our territorial waters and that they should not have been there, so the United States must apologize, and that did happen. It will not take long before the fleet will act according to the orders he receives," said the admiral.
