A senior Jewish politician in France was found lifeless today (Tuesday), with signs of violence.

Jewish politician Alain Gosselin, 73, a member of the Board of Carteille, a suburb of Paris, was found in his home with signs of severe violence and lifeless. Is this an anti-Semitic murder?

French police are investigating the murder. Home valuables were stolen but no signs of forced entry were detected.

Among other things, credit cards and the late Alain's car disappeared from the apartment. Investigators are studying whether this is a robbery since the door was left open, or an attempt to disguise a hate crime.

The case was revealed after the man did not come as usual to prayers this afternoon in the local synagogue, and his brother came to his house and found him dead.

The bureau against anti-Semitism has demanded to investigate whether it was an anti-Semitic incident.

Meanwhile, Jewish community leaders in Marseilles, France recommend not to travel with a kippa in the city.

Zvi Amar, head of the community in Marseille, said: "Life is more sacred than anything else, we need to make tough decisions."

The directive to remove the kippa comes after the attempted stabbing attack yesterday, in which Benjamin Amsalem was injured using a machete (large knife), while going to the school Louis Pasteur where he is an educator.

The perpetrator confessed and told the police that he did so on behalf of the Islamic state - ISIS.

The alert level in Brussels, Belgium and Munich rose to the highest on New Year's Eve because of intelligence warnings of ISIS intention to attack these cities, and in Valencia in southern France two were run over in the terrorist attack near a mosque.
