Thousands attended tonight (Saturday night), a rally at the supermarket "Hyper-Kosher" in Paris, on the first anniversary of the attack that occurred there.
This Shabbos was declared in France the "Hyper Shabbat", in memory of those killed in the massacre, special prayers were held as well as chizuk events.
The peak of the memorial events were held in Paris at the end of Shabbat and thousands flocked from all over France.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Manuel Valles, the interior minister Bernard Caseneuve, former president Nicolas Sarkozy, President Krief, Roger Cukierman, Chief Rabbi of France, Rabbi Chaim Corsia and more.
Candles were lit in memory of the 17 victims when one would of the lighters was a representative of a Muslim organization.
French Prime Minister Manuel Valles said: "How could we have seen Jews leaving France with fear and did not wake up? When France does not understand the Jews, it does not understand itself. How can it be that in Paris the capital of democracy, people are shouting calls such as 'Death to the Jews' or 'Death to Israel'? It may not be that in Paris there is a boycott of Israel, we must act against it."
