The hunt continues: More than 24 hours after the terrible massacre on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv, which killed two people and wounded seven others in varying degrees, police have yet to locate the terrorist, an Arab Israeli from Wadi Ara in the north, who was identified by his family who watched the documentary of attack.
On Saturday night the name of the terrorist shooter Tel Aviv was released – Nasat Malchem, age 29, resident of the village of Arara in Wadi Ara. Police continue searching for him, and estimated that he still carries in his arms.
The terrorist's father identified him from a video of the attack and reported to the police, "the perpetrator is my son, he took the gun from my safe. Stop him quickly before he kills any further." The father declared on Saturday that "I am an Israeli citizen, law-abiding. I did not raise my son this way, I am sorry. I got to the police and helped the security services. I share in the families' sorrow and wish the injured a speedy recovery." However, the police raided the suspect's home, arrested the brother and confiscated a computer that was inside the apartment.
At the end of this morning's assessment of the situation headed by the chief of police and attended by top brass of the police and Shin Bet officials, it was decided to continue the enhanced deployment, including the imposition of special forces of the police and in cooperation with the Shin Bet, to locate the suspect who committed the shooting incident. The police and Shin Bet's operations continued throughout the night and will continue as long as necessary to locate the suspect and exhaust the investigation. In order to enable the forces to do their jobs and maintain the security of citizens and public order, one has to act with responsibly and obey the instructions of police officers.
