Europe is in fear of ISIS: Yvan Mayeur, Mayor of Brussels, announced yesterday (Wednesday) the cancellation of a fireworks display scheduled for New Year, due to warnings of terrorist attacks.

"We had to cancel the event in light of the risk assessment we received from the emergency center. In the current situation we cannot check everyone," said Mayeur to the French news agency RTBF.

At the same time, Belgian police arrested two people on suspicion of planning a terror attack in Brussels on New Year's Eve. During searches in several cities six people were detained for questioning, but four of them were released and two remained in detention on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities.

Police found in the possession of two detainees military uniforms and propaganda of the Islamic State Organization - ISIS. According to local prosecution, searches were not related to the terrorist attacks in Paris last month that killed 130 people.
