Lupolianski to Behadrey Haredim: "I'm optimistic - praying and hoping for the best"

"I'm optimistic," says Rabbi Uri Lupolianski to Behadrey Haredim, tonight (Monday) ahead of the appeal decision to the Supreme Court which is expected to be given tomorrow.
The Supreme Court is expected to give its ruling tomorrow in the appeal of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and other convicted in the 'Holy Land' affair.
Alongside Olmert the issue of former Jerusalem mayor Uri Lupolianski, sentenced by a District Court judge, David Rosen, to six years in prison and a year of probation – will be decided too.
As it became known to Behadrey Haredim, tonight, ahead of the verdict, Lupolianski made a round of prayers accompanied by his family and associates. Lupolianski opened the tour in prayer at the Tomb of Rachel, and from there went to the grave of his mentor Harav Elyashiv ztk"l.
Speaking with Behadrey Haredim, he said: "I am optimistic, we continue to pray and hope for the best with G-d's help." The family also expressed hope and faith in his acquittal.
The ruling in his appeal shall be given in a panel of five judges, Salim Jubran, Neal Hendel, Uzi Fogelman, Yitzhak Amit and Zvi Zilbertal.
As recalled, at the end of a trial held for two years, Olmert was convicted of the offense of bribery amounting to half a million in the Holyland affair. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison, two years probation and a fine in the amount of million.
Uri Lupolianski was convicted of accepting bribes in respect of donations totaling more than $ 2 million, received from Charney and Dachner to the "Yad Sarah" organization, and for other purposes, and was acquitted out of doubt for receiving 120 thousand.
Other co-defendants in the case were also convicted, including Avigdor Kelner, Hillel Charney, Uri Shitrit, Eliezer Simchayof, Meir Rabin, and Danny Dankner.
