The Government Press Office appealed today (Thursday) to CNN and CBS networks and requested a clarification in light of the biased coverage of the terrorist attack in Jerusalem yesterday.

In a letter to CNN, Director of the Press Office, Nitzan Chen, noted that this is not the first time that questions arise about the coverage of the network, and added: "I ask you: how can you explain the discrepancy between the initial news reporting of the CNN reporter in Jerusalem, Oren Liebermann, and the title on the screen shortly thereafter?".

The letter further states that "needless to say we believe that combining the two killers with the two victims into 'Four dead' - this is not only false and non-ethical journalism, but also borders on incitement because the viewer can easily interpret this wrongly."

In a letter to the CBS network, Chen wondered about the title which came on the home page of the website stating that "two Palestinians were killed after a stabbing attack in Jerusalem": We cannot think of a worse example of an anti-Israeli bias than the lamentable title appearing on your site yesterday, even if it was only for a short time. "

Chen added, wondering, "How can you explain the difference between this title – 'Two Palestinians were killed after a stabbing attack in Jerusalem' - and the title which appears now – 'two Israelis were killed in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem; two Palestinian attackers were killed"?
