An IDF soldier was lightly wounded during the afternoon (Thursday) from a terrorist attack at the entrance to the Rama outpost in Binyamin. The terrorist, Wissam Abu Joila of Qalandiya refugee camp - was shot and killed.
Today, at about 12:00, a force of fighters and border police officers, together with soldiers, were near the entrance to the Rama base nearby Adam square, before leaving on a routine operational activity.
With pullout from the facility, a soldier noticed a Hyundai vehicle stationed at the gate, driving wildly in the direction of the force, which was next to the facility, and shouted at fighters to warn them.
"We identified the vehicle racing toward us in the driveway designed for those attending the base only, something that left no doubt as to the intention of the perpetrator, and we realized right away that it was a terror attack. The fighters literally jumped for cover as we opened fire at the terrorist until he was neutralized. The soldiers and fighters at the scene, demonstrated vigilance and professionalism which is commendable. The rapid reaction is the only reason the incident ended with minor injuries," said A, commanding the force.
As stated, in the incident a Border Policeman was slightly injured in his hand and was treated on the spot. The terrorist, a 20-year-old resident of Qalandiya, was killed instantly.
Benzi Auring, ZAKA Jerusalem District commander, said "Terrorist attacks are pursuing recently, we run from the scene of one attack to another. Thank G-d today no one was injured, security forces neutralized the terrorist before he could harm."
