Public Petitions Committee chairman, MK Israel Eichler, met today (Tuesday) with Dr. Bar Supervisor of Banks in his Knesset office and told her that "Haredi employees should be incorporated in banks at threshold conditions related to banking only".

The Supervisor of Banks presented an overview on Banking Supervision efficiency and new services provided by vending machines and digital service.
Eichler also proposed to reduce equity limitations of young couples from 30% to 20% as a condition for obtaining a mortgage to help young couples get to purchase apartment. He also sought to remove discrimination against Haredi employees for them to work with banks if they specialize in accounting and banking, without the need for an academic titles which are irrelevant to their work.
MK Eichler welcomed the steps being taken for the benefit of customers, which will cause a significant reduction in financial current expenses of consumers. But insisted on the need to provide for populations in need of a traditional banking service, the service owing to them. "One should make sure that banks will not harm the population unable to carry out actions automatically, seniors and residents of the periphery and those who do not use digital devices. One should prevent the closing of branches in such places and avoid reducing services provided by the bank officials ", he asked.
Following requests which recently arrived at Public Petitions Committee, on closing of branches and reducing services, MK Eichler, Chairman of the Committee, decided to hold a hearing on the subject next week, in order to examine the banks' plans for the coming years and take care not to harm the sectors who cannot use the automated services.
