Warm regards from the year 5699: the Knesset Mordechai in Israel

State Archives reveal an exciting video: the Rebbe Mordechai Shalom Yosef Friedman of Sadigura zt"l – the Knesses Mordechai and his wife reach the shores of Palestine in Adar 5699.
The Rebbe of blessed memory, was born in 5657, and was the fourth Rebbe of Sadigura.

At the outbreak of World War I he fled to Vienna with the rest of the Rozin Rebbes. He was active in the Agudath Israel, and later was appointed as a member of the Council of Torah Sages of Agudath Israel.

Later he moved to Peshmishel and the third large conference of Agudath Israel in 5697 he was among the proponents of the establishment of Israel. He even instructed his followers to go to Eretz Yisrael.

In 5699 the Rebbe came to Israel with his wife and on the advice of his uncle Rabbi Yisrael of Husiatin, he fixed his abode in Tel Aviv.

He died in Nissan 5739, and was buried in the Nahalat Yitzhak cemetery in Givatayim.
