The investigation of the attacks in Argentina: Former Foreign Minister of Argentina, Hector Timerman, acknowledged today (Saturday) that according to information held by government institutions, Iran is for the attack at the Jewish community building in Buenos Aires.
"They are the ones who planted the bombing 18 years ago", said Timerman, the Jewish foreign minister, in an interview with a local radio station.
On July 18, 1994, a Lebanese terrorist detonated a bomb planted in a car, murdered 85 people and wounded 330. The attack was one of two attacks carried out in Argentina in the '90s of the 20th century against Israeli and Jewish targets, and considered one of the most severe attacks carried out on the land of Argentina.
Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility for the attack, but said that it was a retaliation for the assassination of Abbas Moussawi by the IDF in February 1992.
Argentine officials previously denied Iran's connection to the attack. Iran and Argentina signed an agreement designed to cover up the investigation of the attack.
But now, the new Argentine government, led by President Mauricio Macri, announced that it is canceling the agreement with Iran, and will reopen the investigation of the attack.
