Paris police announced yesterday (Tuesday) that it had detained two people suspected of being involved in the attack a year ago at the kosher supermarket Hyper-Kosher in Paris.
According to police, the couple provided weapons to the terrorist Amedi Coulibaly.
As recalled, in January a year ago the Jewish community in France was shocked, when an armed gunman entered the store Hyper Kosher – a kosher food store located at the 12th district of Paris, barricaded himself in the store with shoppers and supermarket workers and turned them into hostages.
After nerve-racking negotiations between police and the terrorist, police decided to break into the store. The terrorist was shot and killed, but in the incident four people were killed - Yoav Khattab, 21, Philip Barham, 40, Johan Cohen, 22, and Francois-Michel Saada, 60. In addition, several people were injured.
Last Hanukkah a memorial ceremony commemorating the victims in the attack was held at the Great Synagogue in Paris.
Police has been trying for a year to unravel the murder and capture the accomplices of the terrorist, and as mentioned, on Monday a couple suspected of helping the terrorist were captured.
