Will Hidabrut become a national channel?

Ministry of Religious Affairs examines cooperation with the haredi organization "Hidbarut", which is affiliated with Shas for the production of television broadcasts, as published today in the newspaper Haaretz.
According to the report, "the Administration of Jewish Identity" established by the "Jewish Home" in the previous government, and now transferred to the Shas Party, which holds the Ministry of Religious Affairs, is planning to expand its operations and to run a series of television programs based on "early Jewish sources" for the price of four million shekels.
In addition, the Administration of Jewish identity has recently published a call on bodies towards a production contract with a company that will produce TV broadcasts for it, to act for the "accessibility of Jewish cultural values to large parts of Israeli society."
According to the report, the Ministry of Religious Affairs is conducting advanced negotiations with the haredi Kiruv organization "Hidabrut" which also operates an active TV channel, and is headed by Rabbi Zamir Cohen, affiliated with Shas. It now appears that Hidabrut has maximum chances to win the tender.
Religious Services Ministry said that - "Under the government's decision, it was decided that the Administration of Jewish identity will engage in creating an infrastructure for every Israeli to meet with Jewish heritage resources in an accessible, interesting and meaningful way.
"The administration is engaged in a variety of ways to meet objectives and, among other things, examined the option of purchasing external services in the field of production of content for distribution across different platforms, as well as various media in cooperation of certain bodies. All communication is in accordance with all regulations and with the approval of the Tender Committee at the Ministry composed of representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Legal Bureau".
