A shooting attack occurred this evening - two were injured, one seriously.

The attack occurred at the access road towards Avnei Chefetz in Samaria, when shots were

fired from a passing vehicle at an Israeli vehicle carrying a couple aged 60. Two terrorists in

the car fled toward Tulkarem.

The attack caused an accident, a man was wounded in the head and stomach and was

evacuated in serious condition to Belinson hospital, and his wife was lightly injured and was

taken to Meir Hospital.

Beilinson Hospital reported that a casualty arrived from the incident in Samaria in a

moderate to severe condition as a result of firing, with a head and limb injury. Right now he

is in the trauma room and is expected to enter the operating room later.

The names for prayer: Shaul ben Aviva was seriously wounded and his wife Rachel who was

lightly injured.

Matti Golan, a paramedic of Ichud Hatzalah in the Province of Judea and Samaria, said:

"When I arrived at the scene along with other volunteers from Ichud Hatzalah of Avnei

Chefetz, we came across a semi-conscious man and a conscious woman who suffered

gunshot wounds after being shot in their vehicle. After initial medical treatment with the

help of military medical personnel they were evacuated to the hospital."

Yossi Dagan, the head of the Samaria Regional Council, commented: "Unfortunately, this is

the second time that a shooting attack takes place in two months on the road about which

we warned and asked that it not be opened to Palestinian traffic. Too bad our warnings have

to be colored in blood. The terrorist shooting attack today took place on the access road to

the town of Avnei Chefetz, that there is no reason for Palestinians to be traveling in. Six

months ago I went to the divisional commander and MK Yariv Levin and asked and warned

against opening the road to Palestinian traffic. Unfortunately again the European voice beat

the security considerations of the citizens of Israel. And the families are paying the price."
