Just before surgery - Holocaust survivor asked for candles

The doctors did not give many chances to the complex catheterization which a Holocaust survivor, 93-year-old resident of the city of Konstanz in Germany, was supposed to have today (Monday),but he did not give up.
Just before going into surgery, the Jew, Yitzhak Ben Esther, asked the Rabbi of the community, Rabbi Avigdor Stern to pray for him and promised to light the candles when he comes out of surgery safe and sound.
It was hard to remain indifferent in the face of this dear Jew who before entering the operating room, asked to light a candle. Community members divided the Tehillim book and prayed for his recovery.
Shortly after the end of the operation the doctor called to update that everything went well, adding: "He asks that you come to the hospital to fulfill the promise."
Half an hour later, the community rabbi came together with heads of the community into the hospital room to light the Chanukah candles, in praise and thanksgiving for miracles and wonders in those days and at this time.
Please daven for Yitzchak ben Esther for complete recovery.
