Terror effect: extreme Right leaps in France

Terror effect: surge in the power of the extreme right party "National Front", based on samples that were released last night (Sunday) in local elections in France.
According to exit polls released on French television, the right-wing party led by Marine Le Pen garnered more than 40% of the vote in the first round of local elections in northern France and the South-east.
On the national level the party jumps to 30% and leads in at least half the provinces.
Analysts say the dramatic rise of the extreme right movement is affected by the terrorist attacks in Paris which claimed the lives of 130 people. So too by the current crisis of immigrant influx into the continent.
Le Pen appeared before a crowd of supporters and said: "The state has spoken, we are the leading party in France. The French can be proud and not ashamed of their desire to be proud. We are the only party fighting for democracy and freedom".
Le Pen's party does not support anti-Semitic attitudes. However the surge in the power of the party disturbs the local Jewish community.
Jewish member of the French Parliament, Meir Habib commented that, "I believe that one should not give power to extremist parties, not from the extreme left or right which may overflow into Semitism. I want to believe that Le Pen's voters today did so in protest or in solidarity with the principles of the National Front party".
The "National Front" leads in the first round. However, the second round will be held in a week on the 13th of December, and the heads of the main parties will try to raise their power to block Le Pen.
