Unity in Hasidic world: 'Chozer' of Chabad at Belzer Rebbe's house

First publication on Behadrey Haredim: for the first time after years of rivalry, there is Chassidic approach again – the chozer of Chabad Hagaon Rabbi Yoel Kahn of Crown Heights in Brooklyn, came to visit the Rebbe of Belz in Jerusalem, and was received very warmly.
Rabbi Kahn is a senior Chabad rabbi and was the 'chozer' of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's sichos.
So far, there was a long-standing tension between Belz and Chabad movement, due to the fact that Belz joined Hagaon Rabbi E.M. Shach in the establishment of the party Degel HaTorah in 5749 (1989).
Although the Rebbe of Belz visited the late Lubavitcher Rebbe in Crown Heights twice, there was a sharp dispute between them as to the issue of Eretz Yisroel. While the Lubavitcher Rebbe objected to the return of land for peace, the Rebbe of Belz supported.
Behadrey Haredim learned that towards Yud Tes Kislev, the Chabad redemption holiday, the 'chozer' is visiting in Israel. There were contacts between the parties, and the chozer came to visit the Rebbe.
Last week, there was also a turning point in relations between Belz and Machnovka. On Monday, the Rebbe of Belz attended and arranged Kiddushin at the Rebbe of Machnovka's granddaughter's wedding, after half a century of total detachment.
The donor Elish Englander of London, patron of Machnovka Hassidus, and an opponent of the peace so far, even shook hands with the Rebbe of Belz at the chupah.
