A brief record from 76 years ago, showing the representatives of Agudath Israel - Rabbi Yaakov Rosenheim and Rabbi Moshe Bloi, in the 'Conference of the Round Table'.
The conference, by its official name - The St. James Conference, was held from February 7 to March 17, 1939, and was the last mediation attempt of the British government to the problem of the Arab-Jewish conflict. The conference was called so after the St. James Palace in London where it took place.
Rabbi Moshe Uri Bloi, was born in Jerusalem on 19th Kislev 5645 (1884), and died during a mission of Agudath Israel in Messina, Italy, on 8th Sivan 5706 (1945). He was the leader of the Eida Hareidis in Jerusalem, of the heads of Agudath Israel in the Land of Israel, and editor of the hareidi paper 'Kol Israel'.
Yaakov Rosenheim died on 8th Cheshvan 5726 (1966), was a founder of Agudath Israel and its first leader. He served as president of the association for four decades.
