Tunisia: sad ending to kosher restaurant

Terrorist threats against Jews increase in Tunisia and the kosher restaurant manager in the city, La Gault, announced last week the closing of the restaurant "Mamie Lily," which was considered the country's only kosher restaurant.

The restaurant "Mamie Lily' was directed by Yaakov Lalusia and his family, in a private home, where the mother herself cooks Jewish food.

The restaurant owner told a French website that the anti-terrorist brigade which operates in Tunisia, turned to him and told him that the kosher Jewish restaurant was targeted for terrorist organizations, and that he would do well to close the restaurant.

The restaurant owner said he is not willing to risk a possible terrorist attack at the restaurant so he decided to close it down.

To the question of whether he plans to leave Tunisis following the closure of the restaurant, he replied in the negative: "This is my homeland," he replied, "and I will not leave this place."
