Volunteer of Hatzalah Crown Heights, David Shlomo HaCohen ben Shterna Malka, was stabbed tonight by an unknown person who escaped and has not yet been captured. He was taken to hospital and his condition is stable. The background to the attack is not clear.

Shortly before nine o'clock in the evening (4:00 am Israel time) a short call was received on the beepers of Hatzalah members in the Chabad neighborhood of Crown Heights in Brooklyn, New York, "I was stabbed" volunteer David Shlomo called, while apparently walking the street, and provided its location.

The receptionist in the call center remained factual and sent forces to the place. The paramedics were looking for the exact location, between Bedford and Rodgers, and found their friend wounded. He was treated on the scene and evacuated by ambulance to hospital where his condition was defined, by the grace of Heaven, stable.

The NYPD local police forces sent large forces to the place, who along with members of "Hashomrim" began searching and scanning for the perpetrator, as well as searching for witnesses in the case. So far it is known that he was a black man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The background to the attack was not disclosed.
